Forest Stream - Grigory Grigoryevich Myasoedov. 75 x 56 cm

This surprisingly realistic image of a stream flowing through a dense deciduous forest accurately conveys the feeling of moist, even moist air and a delicate aroma of greenery. Standing next to this canvas, as if you hear the gentle melodious murmur of a stream, the rustle of grass and leaves, the numerous muffled sounds characteristic of the forest.

With a minimal variety of color means, the image was surprisingly authentic and voluminous. The play of light is very accurately conveyed, in which the sun's rays pierce the green mass of leaves at an oblique angle and lay characteristic spots on the grass at the foot of the trees and the surface of the water.

The forest stream is wide enough, its surface is calm, quite quiet, covered with a thin film formed due to the abundance of greenery. In dark water, trees are not reflected very clearly, hidden, giving depth and expressiveness to an already sufficiently voluminous canvas.

The picture shows only water and trees, but there is a small detail that emphasizes the “habitability” of this forest. In the foreground, where the waters of the stream flow quite widely, if finely drawn circles on the water. They usually form if a fish pops up to breathe to the surface or some insect takes off, hitting the water surface. Or maybe it was a frog? The artist leaves us this little secret, a hint of hidden life under the dense forest canopy.

Option 2

Wide dusty steppes or snow-covered forests, split grain fields or sea elements - such different and always beautiful nature captivated artists. In an effort to express their feelings, they created a huge variety of landscapes - from panoramic, epic, to lyrical, chamber. Such landscapes-moods were loved by Grigory Grigorievich Myasoedov, conveying in his works the charm of his estate near Poltava.

Hot spring day. The forest beckons with coolness, thick crowns give a shadow, closing each other in the sky. Slender trees stand against the wall, reflecting in the almost motionless surface of a forest stream, which slowly flows among the banks, overgrown with tall grass and shrubs. Flexible branches bend to the very water, sun spots lie on large leaves. Quietly, not the slightest breath of the breeze, everything froze in the midday dream. A small fish splashed quietly - and only the circles slowly diverged on the water surface, and amusing sunny bunnies sparkle among the blue reflection of the sky.

The creek leads away behind him, towards a sunlit glade hiding behind the trees. In lush greenery, a scattering of delicate white flowers is visible. In the distance, behind a wicker fence, you can see the white walls of a small hut.

The artist very accurately conveyed the play of light and shadows on grass and trees. The rich palette of saturated colors is striking in its diversity: a calm range of black-green, grassy, malachite shades is replaced by joyful and radiant emerald, delicate green, light lime colors. Gold and silver sparkles of young leaves glisten under the bright rays, trunks glow with soft reddish-brown tones.

The quiet charm of a forest corner enchants, the picture captivates with its lyricism and tranquility. Very expressive, filled with life, she calls to walk along a forest stream, inhale the heated air filled with the aroma of herbs, admire the game of weightless shadows on spring foliage.
